What is email spoofing and how do I stop it?
Short answer: Email spoofing is when someone sends email that fakes your address in the From line; you stop it by publishing SPF, DKIM and a strict DMARC policy.
The full answer
Email was designed without built-in identity checks, so anyone can type any From address. Scammers use this to send fake invoices and password requests that look like they come from you.
A p=reject policy asks receivers to reject messages that fail DMARC alignment. Providers retain discretion, and DMARC does not block lookalike domains, display-name impersonation or mail sent through a compromised authorized account.
